Wedding flower ideas….

A spring wedding is the perfect opportunity for pretty pastels and delicate florals.  Keep it fresh and pretty with traditional spring flowers like tulips, freesias and white lilies that will fill your reception with lovely scents.

Summer is the most popular time for English weddings, with couples taking advantage of sunny days and balmy evenings to create the day of their dreams.  It is also the flower season, meaning an abundance of gorgeous blooms that can transform your venue.  You’ll get better value from your florist in the summer that at any other time of year.

The most popular summer blooms are lilies, orchids, peonies and of course, the rose in all its varieties.  Sunflowers are also a great twist on the theme.  It’s best to either opt for delicate flowers in pinks and whites or bright, clashing colours that capture the fun of a hot summer.  Bright pink gerberas look fantastic as table centres, and you could continue the pink theme by serving candyfloss and pink champagne.

Why not scatter lavender in the aisle of the church and on the ground outside?  As the guests come in, they’ll tread on it and release a gorgeous perfume that will fill the air. The flower girls could also carry rose petals to scatter in the aisle during the procession.  When evening falls, hang lanterns in the trees and place single candles in glass pots full of rose petals on the ground to create a magical atmosphere.
